The Friends of the Art Museum are proud to host this special event at the residence of the Consul General of the Netherlands. It is a lecture followed by a panel discussion on the developments and trends for Asian contemporary art in the global art market.

The focus of the talk will be:

What makes a trend in the global art market and how does it work?

In the Contemporary art market, trends come and go very quickly. Not only in the artistic art scene but in the way the commercial market functions as well.  Who has the power to create trends, especially in Asia?   Is it a consensus of influential parties? Who are they? Can we predict what is coming up next?

Our keynote speaker is Jeannette ten Kate, the founder of Sinopia and director of the Art’s Club, an international club for art collectors.  With over 20 years’ experience in the art market, she travels extensively around the globe organizing masterclasses and lectures on art for international companies and organizations.

Our panel will consist of influential professionals who have experience with various aspects of Asian contemporary art in the context of the global art market.

This promises to be an interesting and thought provoking evening in a beautiful setting. I hope you can come join us.
