The history of Chinese Ceramics is a long one. As an indispensable part of the nation's excellent cultural heritage, ceramics witnesses the development of China's science, technology, culture and its cultural-economic exchanges with other civilizations of the ancient world.
This exhibition features a fine selection of ceramics dating from the Neolithic to late-Qing period in the Art Museum's collection. Thanks to the support of generous donors over the years, the Art Museum has been able to build up a comprehensive collection of ceramics and over 200 pieces will be on display in phases at the present exhibition.
Also on exhibit are the recent acquisitions to the Museum. These include two classical paintings purchased by the Friends of the Art Museum!
The tour will be led by Josh Yiu, the Museum Director, Dr Phil Chan a calligraphy specialist, and Dr Samantha Wang an expert in ceramics.
Come join Phil, Samantha, and Josh for a tour of the Art Museum's new exhibitions. Masterpieces of porcelains from the permanent collection and calligraphic couplets from a distinguished local collection promise a rich variety of objects to dazzle the eye.
